Happy Birthday Niki!

It is my friend Niki's birthday today!  She loves that she shares her birthday with Halloween and so I made her something birthday and Halloween.

How about a cute door hanger?  I made the letters from punch art and the peek-a-boo frames big shot die.

I love the real peek-a-BOO you get with the eyes. How about the peek-a-boo Happy Birthday phrase on the side?

My fav? That cute little ghost with the witches hat!  He wanted to wear a party hat and this was all he could find!

Happy 13th birthday Analisa!

My daughter Cailynne went to her friend Analisa's birthday this weekend and asked me to make a card.  Well it had to be cool and what better than zebra print?

I got the zebra print paper at Joann's.  Very fun!  I then added a few embellishments like waffle paper and jewels.

How about a little shimmer paint because why not, right?  Cailynne said that Analisa liked the card because she loves pink!  I love the zebra print!

Trunk or Treat

My church had a harvest festival and I volunteered to decorate my  trunk and hand out candy.  It is one of my favorite things to do.  I get to see so many cute costumes and hang out with people from my church.

Here is my trunk decor:

I got the idea off of pinterest.  I just simplified it.  Old paper from my scrapbooking stash.  It looks like a monster mouth.  It was a hit!  People kept commenting on it.  Simple papercrafting and I had a cute (ahem) I mean scary trunk.  Check out my super Cay!  This was the first year she didn't want to be something cute.  It is the end of the era.

Here is my family pic minus the oldest because he couldn't make it.

I just have to share my trunk or treat from a couple of years ago.  Now I can't believe I am showing this picture because I dressed up for Halloween (more than usual).

I went a little crazy with my mini monster cricut cartridge.  Those monsters are so cute!  I actually made my costume a mini monster look with poster board.

Anyhoo, now that I have totally embarrassed myself.  The wig- I am cringing at how I look with it on. At least the kids look cute!

Technique Day Project 1

This months first project was a fall themed home decor frame. I found these cute frames at the Dollar Tree. They reminded me of the cute project trays that demonstrators received when they recruited a new demonstrator. I didn't, but still really liked the project.

The paper is retired. I have discovered that I am a bit of a paper hoarder and I never even opened this pack last year! It is so cute too!

Boo bucket

Parents by Choice is an organization that offers free parenting groups in the San Joaquin County, CA area.  Small groups of 6-10 people will meet each week for 6 weeks.  Triple P- Positive Parenting Program works by giving parents the skills to raise confident, healthy, children and teenagers, and to build strong family relationships.  It also helps parents manage misbehavior and prevent problems occurring in the first place.

Parents by Choice staff came by my work and gave all the units a bucket of goodies.  It was so cute I had to share.

Candy, pencils, Halloween decor, and a cute decorated bucket?  Yes, please!  How about some great parenting education and support? I am excited about this organization and what they have to offer our community.  Do you want more information?  Check them out!

Bowl of candy

I used the brooms I made from a previous post and added them to a bowl of candy for Cailynne and Devan's after school programs.  Both programs have many helpers and teachers that dedicate their lives to enriching my children.  I thought I would give them a sweet treat.

I hope the staff like them.  Hey, who doesn't like getting candy?  It was hard not to eat it while I was putting it together!

BOO

I made my unit at work a Halloween clothespin. I added a cute little Halloween printable riddle.

I love this Stampin' up! Ghoulish Goolies stamp set.  Googlie eyes and the postage stamp punch.  Love it!

How about the cute oversized clothepin? There is something about large clothespins that I adore.  I found these cuties at Michael's for $2/ each.  I added magnet to the back just in case my co-workers wanted to add it to their metal filing cabinets.

You can find the Halloween joke printable on one of my favorite blogs 'All for the boys.' Check it out  here.

Xavier's 5th birthday party

My friend Anna Davis can sure throw a party!  I just wanted to share some pictures from her son's Superhero birthday party.

Let's start with the invite:

Very cute huh?  It was a lot of work and Anna said it was a labor of love.  Her son loved the invite.

How about a superhero banner?  Superman capes with the birthday boy's name.  Simple!  The next set of pictures are of the food.  It is the little details that made this party a success.

Hulk juice? Classic!

No superhero party is complete without bat sandwiches.  PB&J and turkey and cheese.
The games were so fun!  Shoot the villain was Devan's favorite.

Aim and shoot.  Nerf guns and balloons with villians on them.  Very fun!

Guns were 2 for $5.00 at Walmart

Pin the batman.  The backdrop was adorable!  Hand painted by Anna. Check out the amazing and delicious cake that was made by Xavier's aunt Sheree Mendiola-Ross.

Look at this cute boy!  I love that cute smile!

Make your own mask?  How cool! Best friends ready to save the world!

Anna you sure can throw a party!  Also, a big thanks to my friend Charlette Fite for the loan of her Batman and Superman cricut cartridges.

Happy Birthday Xavier!

Happy Birthday little guy!  Xavier is Devan's best friend and we will be going to his birthday party today.  It will be a superhero birthday theme.  Thanks to Charlette for the loan of her superhero cricut cartridges.  Stay tuned for the birthday pics!

Here is Xavier's card:

The amazing spiderman font downloaded for free.  Love it!

How did I get that web so shimmery?  Shimmer paint, rubbing alcohol and a stampin' spritzer.  Also, I used a gelly roll pen (clear star) from joann's on the web.

This card was a case from my friend Charlette and I loved her card!  My friend Anna and I were oohing and awing over the card because we have boys that love superhero's. You can check out her card here.

I know that Xavier will love the card because it is hand-made.  Why do you ask would he even know this?  His mommy and I craft a lot together and he loves to craft with us.

Get well soon...

...and hurry up please!  My hubby is having surgery today and I made him a get well card.  He is having surgery on his neck and will be laid up for a bit.  This is going to be difficult for a very busy guy.  Bear with me.  I will likely be on a posting hiatus.

I decided to make him  a get well card.  I'm sure he will be pretty out of it when I give it to him. But I had this idea in my head for this card and wanted to execute it.  I'm not sure if it came out like how it was in my head, but that happens sometimes.

I really like how the band-aid came out and will likely use it on other get well cards.  I am really into banners and think that maybe I should have made many of them under the ribbon because I like that look.

Cute stamp set that I don't use often.  I love the band-aid stamp.  Sort-of wish that the words went horizontal too.

I can't wait for my hubby to feel better soon and hope that he heals fast!

Journal

My oldest son's birthday was this month and he is really into writing.  He especially loves to write poetry.  I bought a composition book and embellished it for a gift for Bobby.

The sky's the limit when you dream.  I love how simple this journal was to make.  I purposefully left a lot of empty space with the crumb cake paper.  My son is really into drawing as well and I thought he could be as creative as he wants to be with the cover of the journal as he will be with what he writes/draws inside.

Happy Bosses Day!

Here is a card to appreciate my boss Lynette.  Our unit loves her and decorated her cubie with pink streamers and hearts.  Here is a card to match:

Pink paper, jewels, and shimmer spray?  Perfect for Lynette.  Lynette is a major fan of pink and supports breast cancer research in support of her mother.  She buys a breast cancer bracelet each year and this year she had a jeweled pink heart on it and was the inspiration for this card.

Close-up of the fun flower.

Lynette, you ARE fabulous!

Happy Birthday Cay!!!

It is my daughters 13th birthday today!  We just had a fun-filled Disneyland Vacation to celebrate.  I had to get her a little something for her special day.

My little girl is growing up and I found this gift bag at Target.  It was being clearanced out and thought it looked young but grown-up too.

Here is the card I made and I think that it matches perfectly!  Love my punches that made these cute little flowers.

However, I had to make a card that was Disney-themed.  I think she will like the Mickey card better.  Which one do you like?

Halloween Treats #5- Claudia style

My friend Claudia made these cute treats for us at work. Mummy candy on a pretzel. So yummy!  I love this idea.  A candy mold from Joann's and a large pretzel.  Heat the candy and put it in the mold and set.  Stamp a Halloween image on the plastic wrapper and tie your goodie with cute ribbon.  I love it!  Thank you Claudia!

Halloween treats #4

This one is so simple and fun!  What kid doesn't like bubbles?  How about some Halloween bubbles?

You can find these bubbles in the party section at Target.  They are around $4.00.  There are special Halloween bubbles in the Halloween section but they are double the price.

Simple stamping and circle punches and you are done.  I like that it is an alternative to candy.
