Thank You Note
I recently received this super cute 3x3 card face with my Stampin Up order. Super cute, super simple, and super thoughtful of the folks at Stampin' Up! There was also something else a little different in my shipment box- bubble wrap filling. Gone was my brown paper wrapping paper that I love to up cycle. So my question is- Will I get a super cute card that is personalized every time and no more brown wrapping paper? Was it a one time fluke? I will have to let you know with next months order.

MDS- Cowboy Style
Gavin's Birthday MDS style. So Gavin wants to be a cowboy and I think that is just about the cutest thing ever. My mom and dad had recently took a trip to a southern state and asked what to bring back for the kids. Well that was an easy request...cowboy boots! Gavin loved those boots so much that he wore them with shorts, swim shorts, Tae Kwon Do, and jeans. Cowboy boots go with anything right???

Student of the week
Devan is student of the week! We had to answer a lot of questions about Devan, such as his favorite food (spaghetti) to what does he want to be when he grows up (a police officer). We put together a poster board of cute pictures.
One of Devan's favorite pictures? It is the one where he is using his bear as a pillow.
Look at that cute little boy! I love our family!

With sympathy
I had to make two sympathy cards. Last week was very difficult. My heart has been breaking for my friends.
This card was inspired from a card I saw on Scrap & stamp with Frenchie. A simple sponging technique with the addition of the Stampin' Up! Stippled Blossoms stamp set.
Close up of the butterfly. I like the soft look on the flower. You can check out Frenchie's project here. She does a great video on the technique.

The butterfly (Papillon Potpouri) is Stampin' Up! Shimmer paint stamped on vellum. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Blessed!
I am so blessed to have a wonderful daughter! Cailynne is having a special day today. She is being baptized by our church. We dedicated her when she was little, and she has made the decision to be baptized. I am so proud of her strong convictions and her love for the Lord.
Here is the card I made her:

I used a lot of Stampin' Up! rhinestones. I couldn't stop!
I stamped with Stampin' Up! Wisteria Wonder and SU frost white shimmer paint.
I used the Stampin' Up! stamp sets: Affection Collection, Layered Labels, and Daydream Medallions.
Close up. I love the 'Love' stamp from the affection collection. I love my Super Cay too!

Teacher appreciation
My daughter's Language Arts/ Reading teacher Mrs. Dockery sent a wonderful email complimenting my daughter Cailynne. She said that Cay was a hard worker and a great student. It was so wonderful that she took time out of her busy day to write something great about my daughter. I am so proud of my Super Cay!
I decided after sending an email back thanking her that it wasn't enough. I made a card for her.

Okay, I had to do an apple card. I know, I know, some teachers aren't super keen on apples. I couldn't resist! I love that little apple stamp from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set. How about the Storytime DSP paper? So cute, and very important to the theme of the card. At back-to-school night Mrs. Dockery explained that the kids are going to know how to write by the end of the year. As parents we ask, "Don't they already know how to do that?" Not really, with texting and facebook out there I guess writing has gone downhill. She is a stickler about writing complete sentences with the words spelled right.
A thank you to Cay's teacher for her wonderful words that made my day. I had to write some words back and tell her how lucky Cay is to have her as a teacher. You can tell she cares about her students.

Happy Birthday Lidia!
My friend Lidia's birthday slipped by at work. She didn't say a word and even worked late that day! Here is the card I made her. I used the Simply Scrappin' kit Afternoon Daydream.
I love the colors in this kit and all of the paper and stickers that go with it.
One of my favorite flowers is the blossom punch. You can probably tell it's my go to embellishment. I also love to pair the little 1 1/4 scallop punch with it.

Tea cups- Harry Potter style!
Here is the paper mache tea cup finished project. The tea cups are combination of a two projects I have seen on Pinterest. One was the tea cup paper mache as noted below and the other was a Harry Potter mug. I was going to put a glossy finish on the cups, but the paint started to smear. Again if you are a Potter fan you will understand the term 'Always.' I also made two so that I could give my sister one. She always gives/makes me stuff and I like to try and surprise her by giving back.
Check out the previous post on how I made the cups here.

Happy Birthday Devan!!!
Today is my son Devan's party and it is power ranger themed. It has been hard to decorate for sure. We are having a house party and it is small at Devan's request. A jump house, foam samurai swords, and a ninja battle is the plan today.
Here is the card I made for Devan. It is a waterfall card.
I found a great video at Dawn's stamping thoughts blog. You can check it out here. Stay tuned for the banner that Devan help me make! He is so crafty my 6-year-old!

Up-Cycled Stampin Up Paper
I have seen this a dozen times and have to say this paper is a lifesaver! I ran out of wrapping paper and needed something quick. It was convenient that I had just gotten a Stampin' Up order, so I wrapped the gift up and stamped it with the same stamp set I had used for the card. Thank you Stampin' Up! By the way the mom of the child that this gift went too loved the wrapping. Maybe I can recruit her for my club. :)

Just because...
It was my nephew's birthday party this weekend and I gathered some items I have been collecting for my sister- just because : ).
The owl is from Joann's and in their fall collection. I bought 3 of them for myself and picked up one for Andrea. Andrea and I love owls! The stickers were an impulse buy from Target. Seriously, they make me smile.
I had to make my sissy a card. She is also my best friend. Stampin' Up! Owl Builder punch to the rescue. You will notice that the background paper is not SU (gasp!) I absolutely loved this paper while shopping with a friend at the new Hobby Lobby we just got in town. There are a lot of SU colors in that paper.
Those little owls are my favorite! Me and my sister : )

More Fort Kits
More kids birthdays means more fort kits. I seriously love giving this as a gift. Don't you think our kids have enough toys already???? How about a sheet set, flashlight, popcorn, and clothespins? What do you have??? Hours of fun and useful things for the house. Clothespins make great chip clips. Who doesn't need an extra pair of sheets for your kids bed or a flashlight? My friends have told me that it has bought them time to do chores and actually has gotten them to get their kids to bed on time. My friend Anna reported to me that she made a fort over her son's bed and has had no difficulty getting him to lay down.
When my sister told me that my nephew Ethan would love to get 49er sheets for his bed I was shocked! A kid that wants sheets instead of toys for his birthday???? Well she gave him a 49er blanket and he freaked out! He is a major football fan and a serious 49er fan. Here is the fort kit I made Ethan:
The next kit was a recent birthday gift for one-year-old Ashley. She is going to be transitioning from her crib to a big girl bed soon and what better gift than sheets? Also, kids love flashlights. Best gift, and if the lights go out, you have one on hand to use in case of an emergency, except that it is your kids very own flashlight. Very fun!

Did I mention that you need to add popcorn? It is a must! All of the items for the fort kit I got at Target. There is even a cute popcorn container I got in the $1 section. Add microwave popcorn and you're a kids best friend. Check out my other fort kit post here.
Happy fort making!
