Lego party activities

Here is the last post on my lego party that shows the activites we did.

Hot potato with a very large lego block????Yes, please!  The winner got to keep the block.  It was my nephew Gavin with the white-blond hair passing it to his brother Ethan.  Check out how intense the kids faces are.  This game was serious business! Gavin still has the block a year later!  I probably would have taken it apart myself.

This game was fun.  Find the Lego minifig.  I hid a bunch of paper lego men and the kids had to find them.  I got the idea from a very cute blog here.

Here the kids are with their paper lego minifigs.  They are so cute!

We had a make your own Lego car and then race it against your friends.

I got the cars at Wal-mart.  The kids got to put them together and then race them.

I got this cute idea for a racing ramp here.

No party is complete with out the cake or in this case cupcakes.

Yes, you can buy candy Legos.  It is at those fun candy stores at the mall.  The cupcake toppers are the create your own Lego minifigs shrunk down.

Devan definitely had fun!  He wants to re-create his party this year except with power rangers.

Lego party decorations

As promised I am sharing Devan's Lego birthday party.

Lego paper blocks for decoration and other little goodies.  

I love this little lego comic I made.  Devan though it was so cool that it had his name on it.  You can make your own here.  How about another picture frame of the guest of honor?

I hot glued a bunch of lego's on a wood frame that I got at Joann's.  I love the little 5 on top.  I then MDS the images inside the frame to look like a lego.  I used the image from the invite and and other photos that didn't make the cut for the invite.

How about a place setting that later converts to a cute picture frame?  I down loaded a free lego font and had fun playing with it.  It is called Legothick and you can download it here.  There are even more fonts out there now and they look cool.  I just glued lego's to the plastic frame and drew a face on the yellow square lego head.  A cute momento from the party.

These little badges I made from a website where you can design your own Lego minifig.  You can check it out here.  I took the image and added the kid's name at the bottom and laminated at Office Depot and added a clip.  I saw other blog ideas that used lanyard and that was cool too.

The banner is just embossed Scrapbooking Lego paper I found at a local scrapbooking store called Katie's World (Stockton, CA).  I used my Cricut machine for the font.

Lego birthday party

I am planning my little guys birthday party which will happen in a month and I thought I would share his birthday party from last year just to kick me into gear for this year.  Devan had a lego party.  I scoured the internet for ideas and found so many that it was lego overload on the special day.

Here was Dev's invite.  I used MDS for the design and did a little hybrid.

That little guy is growing up!  I will share more of his party this week!

Christmas in August

I just got a bunch of new holiday stuff and wanted to try it out.  I made a card with our new coordinations paper, Owl Occasions stamp set and Snow Festival DSP paper.

That little owl is so cute!  Check him out at my friend Kristin's blog.  I really like her birthday card using the same stamp set.

Happy Birthday Loren!

My brother-in-law Loren's birthday is today and I was inspired by my friend Niki's angry bird tutorial and decided that nothing says manly card like angry birds.  The card I made was a labor of love.  Thanks Niki for the very detailed tutorial.  You can check it out here.  Niki did an amazing job showing how to make the characters.

Check out the sling shot.  I totally love sling shots ever since I bought a couple for my kids in Utah at the Stampin' Up! Convention.  We have a beautiful slough by my house that we were launching rocks into it this past weekend.

Dev is so funny!  He was photo-bombing the picture as I was trying to get a picture of Gary and Cay together.  I love that smile!

Perfectly Preserved

I spent the afternoon actually "preserving" peaches with my mother-in-law. She pealed and I sliced, jarred, and basically got the jar ready to boil. We made 47 jars and only had 1 break on us. It was a very productive afternoon and my family will be able to eat peaches this winter.

Happy Birthday to my hubby!  I saw this card on Pinterest and had to make it for Gary.

Yes, my husband loves Pac-man.  Gary and I grew up on Atari.  I am more of a Centipede girl myself.  Pac-man stresses me out!  

This is a total punch art card and it was fun to make. I think Gary will like it.  It will go with a Pac-man shirt I recently bought for him for Father's Day.  I'm tellin' you, he is a total fan.
