Happy Birthday Kjerste!

It is my niece's birthday and she is an artist in so many ways.  She and I share a love for jewelry making.  I had this idea that I would make her card something jewel-like.  But totally switched it up.

How about something sweet for my sweet niece?  I think I am craving something sweet like cupcakes!  I even made the card base the color of a chocolate bar.

This is a directive - EAT A CUPCAKE.

I hope my niece had a great 15th birthday- she is awesome!

Onesie favor...

This little cutie was made by my friend Sia Vang.  She had a Winnie-the-pooh baby shower this past weekend for her sister-in-law.  She bought the Tags, Bags, boxes, and more 2 cricut cartrige from Cricut.  Seriously, this is on my wish list. 

However, I think that you can make a similar one with using punches and a score-pad.  Some of my Stampin' Up! Friends know what a 2-4-6-8 box is and then you create a onesie out of punch art.

Craftin' with sissy...

Okay, I planned a little craftin' time with my sister this past weekend.  I had an idea for a banner for her mantel.  Since I don't have one, I took over hers.  Andrea was so tired after a day of shopping, she went with it.

Fun, right?  This is the mock mantel decoration for Christmas.  Andrea is going to do a Thanksgiving mantel for real right now, but we were jumping ahead a little because I have Christmas on my mind.

Okay, I just have to share my sister and my shopping experience.  I made her take some pics.

We have been totally cracking up over the Chanel no. 5 commercial featuring Brad Pitt.  I made Andrea take this picture.  Don't get us wrong, we are total fans of Brad Pitt ; ).

Also, we were playing a little while shopping, because I don't know about you but... what is going on with the style right now?  Seriously, I don't get it.  My sister and I laugh that we are officially old ladies because we just don't want to buy skinny jeans in melon mambo, summer starfruit, or gumball green.

Who wears this?  Ear muff feathers?  Really?  Last time I checked feathers seem light and fluffy.  How will they stand up to the elements? The beret has matching feather on top. For real!

Pat Benatar wants her pleather jacket back and so she can sing, "We are strong.."

The only strong part of the jacket? They really accentuate certain attributes up top.  Hey, I may want to buy one!  Also, next to the jacket were black pleather pants.  What???? I wanted to buy a pair and have my family dress up like the matrix for the Christmas family photo.  I could pair the pants with the jacket.  What do you think?

Happy Birthday Andrea!

Happy birthday to my sister!  We are celebrating together this weekend by having good food, shopping, and crafting.

 

I love this card that came together after having no plan and just pulling out the affection collection stamp set.  I thought about doing something owlish on the card, but went with butterflies instead.  I love how I embellished the little earring box with the owl punch.

Just a picture of the card.  I used shimmer paint on the vellum and added a little bling.

 

What a cute owl from Hobby Lobby!  I bought it for Andrea a month ago and almost kept it!  Isn't he so cute???  He is going to find a place on her mantel.  How about a little Olive Garden where we gorged ourselves silly? Happy Birthday Sissy!

Baby shower favor Sia Style-

My friend Sia Vang is such an artist.  She is making the invites and favors of her SIL's baby shower- Winnie-the-pooh theme.  They are beyond adorable!  Here is the favor:

Baby Winnie-the-pooh?  Awwww so cute!  He is cricut created. 

  Sia used stampin' up treat cups and A Fitting Occasion stamp that is around the peachy keen stamped baby face. Do you only see a little bit of candy?  That was because I pulled the tag and they came pouring out onto the floor.  I love that Sia made the favor reusable. 

Sia modge-podged the pooh shape and it gives it a nice sheen.  There is just something about Winnie-the-pooh that brings me back to my childhood.  I also had my daughter's bedroom in Winnie-the-pooh when she was younger.  It's just classic!

Happy Birthday Cousin!

It was Cousin Eric's birthday a couple of days ago and we are sending a gift to Minnesota.  Even though my son is about 6 years younger than Eric, they are like brothers and friends.  Very cute together!

Here is the card for Eric:

We are sending a gift card and it is these cute gift card coins.  They inspired me to use the cute frog stamp from my moving forward stamp set.  I love that the proceeds from the stamp set go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Really though the fabric is the scene stealer for me.  The colors and pattern of the fabric just have begged me to use it.

I know my nephew had a great birthday.  I wished we were there to celebrate!

My daughter Cailynne got a bag of Carmal popcorn with candy corn from the librarian Mrs.Luiz.  Cailynne is her Teacher's Assistant and loves it.  We loved getting this yummy treat.

 I decided to make her a thank you note for the great gift. 

Fun punch art to the rescue along with the big shot sizzlet floral fusion. 

 I love polka dots and think that the polka dot parade DSP went well with the card.  Stamp a little "thanks" and good to go!  I hope she liked the message inside.  Cailynne is lucky to have her for a teacher/ librarian.
