Card holder class

Lynette and I took my upline Niki's class this past Thursday and it was so fun!  I knew I had to take the class when Niki showed me a cute card holder.  It is straight from the catalog on pg. 166.  What I like is how the Stampin' Up! Catalog is a great idea book.  Our homework for the class was to pick out a Simply Scrappin' Kit.  That part was hard because I wanted all of the kits.  I ended up using the kit displayed for the class because it was in the catalog and I can show it off at workshops and people can really see that the catalog is so much more than just a book to order from.

Here is the one I made.  Almost like the catalog, but just a little different.  Niki also gave us some great embellishments to add to our holders too.  I can't wait to fill the holder with cards.

Lynette's card holder was so pretty!  I need to get that Razzleberry Splash kit.  I love the paper and all of the flower stickers.

Here is Lynette and I with our projects.  You can see all of the other projects here.  They were so pretty!

Happy Birthday Lynette!

Sia and Lynette have their birthdays back-to-back and usually we go out and celebrate.  If only our group at work can sync all of our calendars.  We are having a very busy time right now and our schedules aren't matching.  However, I made Lynette a card and we all went in on a gift card to Kohl's.

Ok, just to prep you, it is another card using the patio party DSP.  LOVE IT!  Check it out:

Close up of the pinwheels and stamps.

Those pinwheels kept resisting me when I was making them!  Totally worth it because they are a cute embellishment.  Look at all those cute cupcakes for the background.  Makes me want to eat one.

Another birthday card...

I am loving the patio party DSP and the new Fitting Occasions stamp set.  I was just playing around with the stamp set and came up with this card.

Close up of the card. Sorry for the exposure!

You can never have too many birthday cards!  This one was fun to make.

With Sympathy

This type of card is never easy to make.   My co-worker and friend had a family member pass away and my heart goes out to her.  What I cherish most is our great talks that we have at my cubicle.

I love the Everything Eleanor stamp set, label framelits, and the comfort cafe DSP used here.  I think Sue will like the card and I hope it gives her some comfort.

Happy Birthday Sia!

Sia and I love owl's and I had to make her birthday card with the owl punch.  I hope she likes it!

That little owl is so cute!   Sia doesn't like to celebrate her birthday, but hopefully this card makes her smile.

My kind of paper crafting!

Check out this cool cross at my church.  There are papers attached to the cross, with the caption, 'In 2012 I will believe God...'  and people write what they believe God will do in their lives.  How cool, right????

This past Sunday Devan performed with the Vacation Bible School group on stage.  He complained  prior to the service that he was too shy to perform.  He got up on stage and sang just a little with some hand movements.

My little guy is in the back row in the middle and the only kid not facing forward.  For most of the song he was looking off to the side.  It was probably very overwhelming looking at the audience!  He was very brave to get on stage and we are so proud of him!!!!

Birthday Invites- Sia style!

My friend Sia had a Super Mario Brother's party for her son last year.  She made awesome invites and really can throw a party.  Check out her cool invite!

How amazing is this?????  It looks like a Nintendo DS game!  I love it!

But wait there's more!  The previous year her son had a plants vs. zombies birthday theme.  Are you sensing a video game trend??

Sia, you are so talented!

Fort Kits

We have two birthday parties today for two boys.  I went to my default birthday gift: fort kit.  Buy a sheet set, add clothespins, a flashlight, popcorn and you have an afternoon of fun.  I LOVE forts.  I am the queen of fort construction.  I take it very seriously (grin).  Check out these cool kits:

Okay, I just have to share this because one afternoon my kids got together and made a very cool fort.  They constructed it around the TV and had popcorn and watched a movie.  Totally kid created with no interference from me.  Cool, huh?  Check it out:

Our kitty Terry is off to the right kind of blending in with the black sheet.  Of course Dev has his best friend 'Bear' with him.

I sent in the pictures to one of my favorite blogs www.allfortheboys.com for a 'Fort Friday' submission.  You can see it here.  Looks like fun, right?

Fun night!

Last night was card class at Panera with my upline Niki.  I had one heck of a busy day and was exhausted.  I just didn't have it in me to craft.  That happens sometimes, you know?  So I sat and watched and had great conversations with some fun ladies.  It seriously was the highlight of my day!

My friend Claudia came and check us out here.

Tee hee!  We are hiding behind Claudia's cards because we both had a long busy day at work and needless to say didn't look our best!

You can check out the cards we are holding in depth at www.stampinwithniki.blogspot.com.

camp crafts

My kids go to summer day camp at our church and they are having a blast!  They are playing fun games, swimming, going on field trips, and bringing home some really cool crafts.

Here are some of the cool projects the kids have been doing:

Look at some of these classic crafts! Lanyard, God's eye, bracelets, hamma beads, etc.

Cay said this box took a couple of hours to make.  First they had to construct it, then paint it.  Cay gave this box as a Father's Day gift to Daddy.

Inside the box were these two magnets that hold post-its for dad.  Dev's is on the left and Cay's on the right.

My favorite craft so far!  I got to make one of these during our Wednesday church night 'Thrive' with the 3rd -6th grade girls.  The concept is like a shrinky dink.  However, it was made with the clear plastic food holder you may get a sandwich in for a to-go meal from a restaurant.  You cut the bottom of the container, color the plastic with permanent sharpie markers and bake in the oven.  Look at this cute pendant Cay made. Her nickname at camp is Squints.

Stay tuned-I have been recruited to do a project with the older kids toward the end of the summer camp and can't wait to show you!

Sis-taur

My sister is my best friend.  When we were little, I called her many names (not all bad!).  I had a million nick-names for her.  I also do the same for my kids too.  I had to make an MDS of my sister's nicknames because I was inspired by her post about the subway art for baby Landon at her recent baby shower.

Check out those cool pictures!  I am not at all embarrassed by my cool clothes and hair! Awesome!

A Promotion!

I am a Junior High English Teacher by day and a Stampin Up demonstrator by night (mainly weekends :). I recently was promoted to Supervisor. I have one downline now, but am always looking for more. Let me know if you are interested.

Any who...my up upline Niki sent me a cute card congratulating me on my promotion. So cute using our new, but sadly 'on hold' hostess stamp set called 'Carry On'. We can still post using it as long as we don't use the original logo. Love how she used a post it note inside so I can reuse it if I want. So thoughtful.

Kitty Condolence

Niki (my upline) made a condolence card for the passing of our kitty Lily.  Our family really appreciated it.

Look at this kitty stamp.  The way it shows the kitty you only see 3 legs like our Lily.  We miss her very much! :-(

The kids wanted to take a picture with the card.  They are very serious.

Our Lily

You were a strong mouser and fast even with 3 legs.

You meowed a lot.

You were loving.

You would sleep with us.

You loved being scratched on your neck.

You had a lot of hiding spots: our closet, cays couch, Devan's bed (blending in with the stuffed animals).

You were very playful with strings and any toy you could get your paws on.

Outside you loved our purple flower hedge where you passed away.

You were special and loved by us.

Daddy-O

Happy Father's Day to my dad!

My dad usually gets a hand-made gift for Father's Day (along with a giftcard for some electronic gadgety thing).  Previously, I made him this altered paint can and filled it with goodies.  It was a couple of years ago.  It now sits on the counter (always with something yummy in it!). Very sweet for my dad to keep it around!

Did you see my dad in the background of the first picture?  I totally took his picture secretly.  He never smiles in pictures anyway, it is the running joke in our family.  He does have a great smile, you just can't get him to do it when taking a picture.

The paint can was ordered online, but now you can get them anywhere.  I used cool paper that was old scrapbooking paper that I hoarded over the years.  All of the letters and paper flourishes are Cricut- namely from the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge.

I hope my dad has a great relaxing day doing one of his favorite things: watching golf.

Baby Landon Subway Art

I am a big pinterest user and love to look at all the possible crafts to make.  One craft that I just love making and using the Stampin Up MDS program makes it really easy- Subway Art!  Such an easy thing to make and means so much to the person you give it too.

I made Loren's cousin Krista a subway art of her new son's birth statistics.  It turned out very cute if I do say so myself.  It was very easy to get printed at my local Walgreen's and I was even able to use a promo code!  I love a discount.  The total amount it cost me to make the project was $15 dollars and that includes the frame!  If you are interested in trying out the Stampin Up My Digital Studio (MDS) go online and try it for 30 days for free!  Yes for free!  If you really like it contact me and I can help you place an order for the actual program.

Baby Landon Welcome Shower

We have a new addition to the Enns Extended family! We just keep growing.  Landon David was born March 31st via C-section to my husband's cousin Krista and David!  What a big boy he was too at 9 pounds 12 ounces.  For a first time mommy I don't think he could have come into the world the normal way.  He is such a cute baby and both mommy and daddy are very much in love with him.

To celebrate his arrival we had a welcome shower for the Holpak familyand of course I offered to make some decorations.  I love banners and so that was definitely one piece that I was going to make.  I will be posting the other decorations too, but to start here is the banner...

I used both Stampin Up and Cricut materials.

For Stampin Up I used Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, and Bashful Blue cardstock, Pacific Point ink, Fox and Friends stamps (now retired), Scallop circle punch, and the Swiss Dots embossing folder.
For Cricut I used the Create a Critter Cartridge for the animals and Country Life for the banner.  I really love both those cartridges and use them a lot.  The animals are so cute for kids and the banner is just awesome for anything.

I made the the Rosettes using the Tim Holtz rosette die.  I really like that die because it makes such small rosettes.

The ribbon is just party ribbon and as an added touch I added googlie eyes for the animals.
